  1. Renee, great work with your final presentation! I think that Class Dojo is a great tool to use, especially for your second grade students! I love how it is able to be customised for your needs and classroom. It was great working with you in class and I wish you the best of luck with your future teaching!

  2. Hi Renee,
Thank you for sharing your final thoughts on integrating technology into the classroom. I know you said you are not teaching yet. You seem very well set up to teach.
In particular, I enjoyed the app you discuss regarding teaching exceptional learners. How challenging it would be to not be able to communicate effectively. This app seems extremely well set up to assist students in the endeavor towards success. I know you said it takes a lot of time to set up. It seems like the benefits might outweigh the time investment in getting it going. I bet it ends up saving time (and frustration) in the long run. I enjoyed hearing about how this class enlightened you in regard to now better being able to see how technology can help your students, not just you as their teacher.
    Thanks!

  3. Hi Renee, thank you so much for sharing your presentation. I appreciated how you looked at both the pros and cons of the specific technologies for the classroom . Your thoughts on how those items can be used with in the classroom helped me get more ideas about the capabilities of apps like SeeSaw. It was wonderful getting to be in class with you this semester. Good luck in your practicum!

  4. Renee,
You really depict how your thoughts have changed surrounding technology. I also really resonate with being careful what students have access to while using the internet. I also love using Kahoot in my class, my kids go crazy for it!

  5. Hi Renee

I appreciate how you thought through each technology and you geared your choices to your grade level, you did a great job with that. I also appreciated the the slide on student as researcher, specifically how you are going to make an intentional effort to choose websites for your students to look at in advance. I agree with you about second grade students should not have access to the whole World Wide Web, even if there are safety nets in place in the school district, many websites are just not designed for second graders to be coming across and it consumes class time when you have to police the room and keep students on task. That was excellent forethought on your part. I appreciate the way you reiterated teachers need to be a model for students to follow. You did a great job and congratulations on this being your last class. I hope you have been placed in your student teaching position and it is the perfect fit for you. Blessings Darla

  6. Hi Renee, Thanks for your sharing, and like everyone else, I appreciated how you looked at both pros and cons, really thoughtful. I cannot believe that you don't have teacher experience yet because you are so thoughtful and understand your students; more importantly, you know how you manage your classroom and keep the momentum. I love your classroom design; well organize and esthetically. Thanks for sharing your thought which use technology in the classroom in a collaborative way. Your students will feel lucky to have you. Good luck!

  7. Hi Renee, really loved your presentation! I appreciated the explicit "then and now" expectations and perception of technology - I feel like it lines up with my experience with technology and how this course helped me with some realizations as an educator. I love the model classroom image you made - was wondering how you created it?? You were very thorough with going over each new technological discovery/app throughout the course and how you would directly apply it to your classroom! I can really tell how invested you are in wanting to create the best space and environment for your students. Hope to see you in future classes and if not, good luck with everything! :)

  8. Hi Renee,
I really enjoyed your presentation. Before this class, I also thought that technology was more to benefit the teacher in an early childhood/elementary class than it is to benefit the students. I didn't know about VoiceThread until taking classes at Gordon. It seems like a great tool to use in the classroom - and like you said, it allows repetition which totally aligns with the Montessori philosophy.
I really enjoyed getting to know you over the last couple of weeks. Best of luck!
